One of the best sets yet. Everyone should get this.
By J. Ensor
As someone who has multiple copies of almost every set made, I can easily say this is one of the best sets yet.

Most of the non-3D tiles in the package have the wood floor pattern. It's similar to the wood floor that is on a few of the older large tiles of building interiors, but not exactly the same. Most of the tiles are plain wood on one side and a fully detailed room or part of a room on the other. With these tiles, you should be able to make the vast majority of any civilized interior space you need. I think the tile shown on the cover is a strange choice since it is not representative of most of the tiles in the set.

There are two sheets of 3D tiles. Once you assemble them you get a staircase, a couple of 5' high platforms, a couple of 10' platforms, a double door, and a few tables. The beauty of these is that one side is wood and the other side is stone. Just take them apart and flip the sides to change texture. I see getting a lot of use out of the stairs and platforms with my old standard stone dungeon tiles.

Overall, this set is great. You can probably make do with one set if you don't make anything too big, but with this being the only set with a lot of wood floor and having the 3D pieces I would get two.

Just Say No to 3D Tiles
By Ninth Plane
The idea of a 3D map is compelling, but this is NOT the solution. First of all there aren't enough in this set to be that interesting; they just look out of place with all of the other 2D tiles. Also, if you leave these assembled then you're going to need a lot more storage space and transporting them to a game is going to be more problematic. If you plan to take them apart, on the other hand, they will NOT last very long. And, you will not switch quickly during a game from the stone to the wooden side to rebuild another 3D object. It takes time and if you get in a hurry then you'll probably damage them.

If they do more 3D tiles then I hope they make them separate sets rather than taking-up otherwise useful sheets in every pack.

Finally, I have at least one of every tile set published by and this is absolutely one of the least useful IMO. I recommend that you save your money. There are some interesting sets on the way. I just hope they realize that the 3D thing was a neat idea that just didn't work.

3-D More Trouble Than Worth
By Ryan Hipp
I am also really excited to see a set that has indoor settings. I like that the one side is "wooden" interiors, and the other side is "stone" interiors. But at the risk of sounding like I don't know what I am doing, it actually took me quite a long time to figure out how to assemble the 3-D tiles, and I am still not sure if I am doing it correctly, because the 3-D tiles once assembled are not especially stable for me. I'm not sure what pieces i am supposed to use for the cross braces, so it becomes about as stable as a house of cads. There are NO INSTRUCTIONS on how to assemble the tiles other than the small example printed on the inside back cover sheet.

Another thing I don't understand with these tiles (being relatively new to using tiles) is what the little white triangles mean, (again, there are no instructions with these sets). Do the triangles represent elevated terrain? What about the black areas on tile sets like Forest of Fear? Is this a "pit" or does it just mean areas you can't walk? Its not really visually clear.
